It’s that time of year again where we are gearing up to give and receive gifts; it's also a great period to take advantage of the season's sales. This is my favourite time to discuss fragrances as it’s the best time to make significant savings on otherwise expensive purchases, and perfumes make awesome gifts.
There have been a few fragrance trends circulating on social media and I’ve decided to do blog posts based on some of them. This one is based on 'Fragrances I Will Not Repurchase' and I’ll follow up with '#BlackGirlFragrance Tag', 'Perfume Check' and 'Fragrance Rotation'.
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf
I can’t tell you exactly what happened but I sampled this fragrance, loved it and bought it. After almost half the bottle was gone, I hated it! No reason, not explanation, it just started to disgust me. That was about 5 years ago, but I still can't stand the scent. 😂🙈
Circus by Britney Spears
I used to love this scent and I still think Britney makes the best celebrity fragrances (Ariana Grande is coming for her crown though!), but I think I’ve just outgrown that genre of fragrances, the smell-good-in-an-inexpensive-way genre. I now want to smell rich hunny! 😜
Gucci Guilty (Intense) by Gucci
This is a scent I absolutely love, but it has weak lasting power. It is also very common, so everyone knows what you are wearing the moment they smell you. Ion like det. 🙅🏾♀️
La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme
A lovely ladylike scent, but it's become too common and I hate smelling like the masses. 🤷🏾♀️
Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent
This is probably the most famous fragrance on this list, and it has tons of flankers. I have since discovered a better version of this scent in the world of niche perfumes, so I would never repurchase it. If you love the mix of coffee and vanilla in your perfume, I recommend you make the switch to Intense Café too. Thank me later. 😉
