In perfumery, an 'accord' is a blend of multiple fragrance notes, while a 'note' is the individual ingredient. I love some perfume accords more than others, but I have fragrances in almost every category.
I thought it would be fun to choose my favourite perfume based on their main accord, and since Black Friday is around the corner, if you decide to purchase any of them, this list may help you save some coins. #OnlyOne
Vanilla: My fave vanilla of all time is Vanilla Diorama by Dior; it's just so warm and comforting!
White Floral: Love Tuberose by Amouage is creamy and sweet, unlike any other tuberose scent I own - love at first sniff! A close runner up is Rouge Malachite which is a spicy tuberose; completely different, but also a fave.
Yellow Floral: A hidden gem many don't talk about is Supreme Bouquet by YSL Beauty - ylang ylang heaven!
Pink Floral: Rose Prick by Tom Ford is all rose with a fresh, but slightly sweet edge to it. Nice!
Fruity: Lamar by Kajal is a perfectly done pineapple scent supported by other fruits, such as apple and red berries. It lasts forever, but isn't heavy or cloying.
Amber: Grand Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a perfect amber fragrance that envelopes you in a cosy, but sexy, bubble.
Oud: My favourite perfume of all time is Alexandria II by Xerjoff, and it combines all the elements that I need in a perfume - great smell, long lasting, projecting, sexy and an amazing sillage!
Musk: Musk Therapy by Initio Parfums is complex yet simple, a beautiful masterpiece.
Sweet: The sweetest perfume I own is Love Don’t Be Shy by Kilian; marshmallow goodness that I just can't get enough of.
Citrus: Despite fresh scents not being my preferred scent profile, Moonlight in Heaven by Kilian was a love at first sniff and won me over.
Tropical: Trouble in Paradise by Memoirs of A Perfume Collector is the most delicious tropical fragrance I've ever smelt! It has a true mango note that isn't cloying and doesn't smell cheap. Tales from Xanzibar from the house was a close runner up because, what's more tropical than guava?!
Gourmand: Italica by Xerjoff is widely accepted as the most gourmand smelling perfume on the market, and since it's release in 2016, many perfumes have failed to dethrone it.
Leather: Opera by Xerjoff is a lovely fruity leather that makes me feel so edgy! You'll hate this if you don't like leather because it's definitely present, but I think it's the most feminine leather out there.
Given the large number of perfumes I own, it was difficult to choose just one for each category, but it was really fun to do. I'd love to hear your suggestions for each category, and for any other accords I left out, leave a comment below!
