TOP NIGERIAN SONGS 2021

I recently spent some time in Nigeria, and one of the highlights of my trip was the music. Nigerians have always appreciated good music and, with the recent worldwide popularity of Afrobeats, Nigerian artists have evolved the genre so much, that there truly is something for everyone within the genre.

Headphones. Nigerian music. Afrobeats.

These are the songs that stole my heart and have been on repeat since I got back; you should definitely add them to your playlist.

1. Vector feat. GoodGirl LA - Early Momo

Guys, this song has me in a chokehold! No matter how many times I hear it, I just can't get enough.

2. Ruger - Bounce

No matter where this song is playing, I will look back at it and whine to the ground right there and then! LOL!

3. Ladipoe - Feeling

This is defo the 'good vibes' song of the year.

4. Gyakie feat. Omah Lay - Forever (Remix)

This song is just sexy! Also, you can't go wrong with a good love song.

5. Rema - Soundgasm

The title says it all, it is a very aptly named song.

6. Adekunle Gold - It Is What It Is

I'm a huge fan of Adekunle Gold and this, like most of his music, hits me where it needs to.

7. Teni - Hustle

I be getting in my feelings sometimes. This song allows me to give my best performance in the shower and leave my problems on the "stage".

8. Wizkid - Sweet One

I know 'Essence' is the song of the summer but have you heard 'Sweet One'? To be honest, the whole album should be on this list, including the Deluxe tracks. The 'Made In Lagos Tour' is about to be LIT!

9. Jae5 feat. Skepta & Rema - Dimension

This isn't a song out of Nigeria and Jae5 is Ghanaian however, the song was everywhere in Nigeria so it made the list.

10. Rexxie & Mohbad - KPK (Ko Po Ke)

The influence of South Africa's 'Amapiano' sound has reached Nigeria, and a new genre labelled 'Afropiano' is emerging. This song is a beautiful merging of the two cultures.

Which of these songs is your favourite? Had you heard them all before, or did I put you on? Have I left out some bangers? Leave all your comments and any suggestions below.
